| Nadine Fralich, 63 Born: San Francisco, California (raised in Salinas, CA). As Legislative Chairperson and one of the co-founders of Bay Area Breast Cancer Network I want to show my involvement in the breast cancer advocacy movement. One of the goals of our advocacy is to educate the public in general and our legislators in particular about he terrible epidemic of breast cancer. My apron attempts to demonstrate that each individuals effort is important and particularly when combined with others efforts a synergistic effect takes place. The cards hanging from the apron strings were sent by our group to each Congressman and as we added more and more breast cancer groups to the cards from across the nation we obtained increased governmental friends for breast cancer research. My husband, Stan, my daughter, Cathleen, my mother, Roselei, and two of my granddaughters, Corinne and Katrina, are in two of the pictures. My two sons, Brad and Greg, are just out of sight of the pictures but not out of mind because they all attended the Breast Cancer Mothers Day Rally at the Sacramento State Capitol with me. My other granddaughter, Ashley, and her mother, Barbara, were there in spirit and support and proudly wear our breast cancer T-shirts. My hope and firm belief is that one of these days soon we will find a cure for breast cancer so that my kinds and their families will not have to endure the tragedies that this disease can bring.
