Nutrition Tip: Cancer Fighting Foods

We know that adopting a diet that includes lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes is important not only in reducing levels of cholesterol and maintaining a healthy heart, but also in preventing certain types of cancers. In fact, poor diet accounts for about 30 percent of cancer risk. To help keep you on track, we’ve included the following list of powerful cancer-fighting foods:

  • All Dark-green leafy vegetables
  • All fruits, particularly oranges, apples, grapes, berries
  • Whole grains (e.g. flaxseed, whole wheat, brown rice, barley)
  • Legumes (e.g. soy foods, beans, lentils, split peas)
  • Olive Oil
  • Salmon
  • Broccoli
  • Tomatoes
  • Carrots
  • Garlic and Onions
  • Green Tea
